Of the Motte-Bossut factory, historically installed in 1843 in a formidable building then called the "monster spinning mill" and relocated following a fire in 1866, only the façade on the rue de la poste remains. In 1904, to face the high rate of infant mortality, the "goutte de lait" with its neo-Norman facade was created on the same site on the boulevard Leclerc side. Abandoned for several years, the complex was bought and rehabilitated into housing (individual house) and offices in 2002 by the Huet family. The project was awarded a rehabilitation trophy in 2003.
An atypical architecture!
Behind this "classic" facade, an entirely contemporary architect's house with astonishing volumes is revealed. The house opens onto a green courtyard and an undergrowth: a true haven of peace in the heart of the city.
